Origin:
Born to Willis and Catherine Todd, Jason was manipulated from the beginning.  A pure of heart caught by his circumstances, Jason’s life began the first time as his father was hitting on the nurse down the hall.  His first show of potential was found by Talia Al’Ghul, daughter of R’as Al’Ghul, when he stripped the power from one of the Untitled so that she could kill it.  After this, his life led him to the point where he was caught stealing by the Batman.  Taken in, he was eventually slated to replace Dick Grayson as Robin.  He was good at it – smart, strong, acrobatic, Jason’s time as Robin came to bring about one of his most cherished memories.  All that changed, however, as Jason Todd’s true purpose, as a tool to get to Batman, manipulated by the Joker, caught up to him.  He died under the hands of the madman, a crowbar the weapon of choice to end his young life.

However, fate was not so merciful as to let it end there.  Trapped in a separate dimension, Superboy caused ripples of reality to wave across space-time to escape.  One such ripple crossed Jason Todd’s body, resting in its coffin.  He was alive.  He broke out of his coffin and dug his way to the surface, shortly thereafter found once more by Talia.  Placed in a Lazarus Pit, his spirit returned to the reanimated body, and Talia took him to the mysterious All Caste for training.  After Essence was exiled from the All Caste, Jason also left, disagreeing with the decision to throw her out due to his own intimate relationship with her.  Afterward, he sought training by the League of Assassins, further honing his skills as he realized that he still carried with him a soul-wrenching hatred for the Joker, a want for vengeance.  More than this, Jason knew that Batman had not wreaked vengeance himself, and so now found himself a target.  As the Red Hood, he destroyed crime syndicates and took control of them, money and power in crime causing the Batman to take notice.  After an incredible amount of planning and patience, he found himself staring at the man who was his father-figure through the sights of a gun.  Dick Grayson as Nightwing saved Batman from Jason, though it is unclear whether or not he’d be able to actually pull the trigger.

After this, Jason left Gotham once more, eventually meeting up with and becoming intimate with Starfire – one Princess Koriand’r of Tamaran.  Together, they rescued Roy Harper – Arsenal – from a Qurac prison, and formed a sort of non-team.  Their various adventures together led them, finally, to a showdown with R’as Al’Ghul himself.  The All Caste dead, the Untitled having reached the same fate at the hands of Red Hood, Jason Todd conquered the darkness within him and severed the dark power of the Well of Sins from R’as, thus proving once and for all that he was pure of heart – even with all of the horrible things he’d lived through.  He, Kori, and Roy then were allowed to go free by the League of Assassins under the protection of Essence.  R’as, still alive but powerless, stated he would personally kill Jason if he ever saw the man again.  Essence vowed to restore the All Caste, and though Jason refused to help, he was still welcome in the Hundred Acres of All.

Now, once more donning the helm of the Red Hood, Jason plans on working toward his destiny – to restore the scales of good and evil to a much more fair state by punching some non-super-powered bad guy heads in.  ‘Cause, you know, that’d be a real nice change.
